The Story of the Iron Horse
Third cycle of elementary school, 5th grade
Length: 2 hours
Railway history is at the heart of Canada’s 19th century social history. The various Museum vehicles shed light on topics such as technological innovation, settlement of Canadian territory, Confederation, the economy, and the development of cities and countryside. To become more familiar with events of that period, children help build a section of track. From mid-May to late October, children can also go for a ride on the streetcar and the miniature train.
Complementary activities
