Discover trains and railway workers!
Childcare and Daycare Centres - From the age of 3

Children listen to the story of Canada's first locomotive, the Dorchester, which is now 175 years old! See how small this locomotive is compared to the giants in Exporail! Can you tell the difference between a freight car and a passenger car? Children learn all about trains and the men and women who worked on the railway. They can imagine themselves driving a huge locomotive as they climb aboard with us.

Accompanied by an Exporail guide, children experience the world of trains through observation, exploration and comparison, and they learn various railroad terms. Children can go into a pit under two huge locomotives, climb aboard a streetcar, imagine themselves driving a steam locomotive, walk through a caboose and become apprentice motormen. In December, we also offer special Railway Christmas activities!

Want to stay longer? After lunch, why not add an extra hour to your tour with our complementary activities: try a railway job or view an exclusive movie.

Children discover the fascinating history of the mail car that was used to carry mail to the Village of Elves at the North Pole. During the tour, they can mail their previously written letter to Santa and make two Christmas ornaments, either to decorate the Exporail's huge painted Christmas tree or to put on the tree at home or at school. Come and visit the many vehicles that make up a train while Exporail is specially decorated or the Holiday Season!
