All Aboard!
Preschool groups: day care and kindergarten
Length: 90 minutes

A Museum guide tells children the story of Canada’s first locomotive, the Dorchester.  The children then explore the world of trains as they look at some of the Museum’s giants.  Passing under two gigantic locomotives, they climb aboard a streetcar, imagine themselves driving a steam locomotive and explore the caboose-where the conductor lived while away from home.  From mid-May to late October, children can also go for a ride on the streetcar and the miniature train.

A Railway Christmas

Preschool and first cycle of elementary school
Length: 90 minutes
Maximum 60 children

Children discover the fascinating history of the mail car that was used to carry mail to the elves’ village at the North Pole.  During the visit, they write to Santa Claus and make two Christmas ornaments: one will decorate the Museum’s huge painted Christmas tree, the other may be put on a tree at home or at school.
