Charles Terroux fonds. - 1850-1957.
Biographical sketch :
Charles Loudon Terroux was a wood-merchant in
Saint-Lambert. In his free time he travelled the
Saint Lawrence valley and the Eastern Townships,
where he learned about past and present railways
that served these regions then and now. He was a
founding member of the Canadian Railroad
Historical Association.
He died in 1949.
Custodial history :
Fonds transferred to the Association's archives by its creator and by his wife during the winter of 1962-63.
Scope and content :
The Charles Terroux fonds relates to railway
history in Canada between 1850 and 1957. It also
covers the abandonment of railway lines in Quebec,
Ontario and the United States.
The fonds
includes press clippings, correspondence, train
schedules, railway company documents, Association
bulletins (1-15), and maps.

Title based on the content of the fonds. Fonds not classified. The documents of the fonds are in English. There are index cards for a portion of the photographs. Some documents carry the names of John Loye and Spriggs.
