Canadian Pacific Railway Passenger Department fonds. - 1850-1982.

Administrative history :
John Beatty worked in the Passenger Department of the Canadian Pacific Railway. He is a member of the Canadian Railway Historical Association.

Custodial history :
Fonds transferred to the Association archives by John Beatty in 1975 and 1977.

Scope and content :
The Canadian Pacific Railway Passenger Department fonds deals partly with colonisation, as well as immigration into the west of the country, and the promotion of tourism between 1850 and 1982.
This fonds consists of photographs, brochures, postcards, menus, train schedules and company publications.

Physical description : 20 postcards. - 0.9 m of textual materials. - 7 photograph albums. - 90 photographs: medium format glass slides.

General note : Title based on the contents of the fonds. Some album covers are damaged. The fonds is not classified, some documents are classified by subject. The documents in the fonds are in English. There are index cards for the photograph albums and the slides.
