Children aged 6 to 8 years

(science and technology and social sciences)

Students learn the names of different parts of a train through the observation and exploration of railway vehicles. They can climb aboard two locomotives, one steam and one diesel-electric.

They can learn to tell the difference between a passenger car and freight car. They can look through the windows of a railway car once used as a school and see how a rotary snowplow clears the tracks during winter storms. Along the way they can learn about different railway jobs, participate in a demonstration of a railway switch and learn about safety near railroad crossings.

During the month of December, take part in our Railway Christmas seasonal program!

Capacity: 100 children
