Demonstrations

Telegraphy

The public can attend a demonstration of direct and remote communications as they were handled before the invention of the telephone. Visitors have the possibility of writing a short message that will then be transmitted via telegraph between the Angus pavilion and Barrington station.

Telegraphy demonstrations are organized on Sundays, from May 21 to October 8, 2017.

Turntable

The demonstration of how a turntable operates enables the public to witness the power of human ingenuity using a pivot under the platform. The turntable operated at the De Lorimier shops in Montreal and in St. Lin in the Laurentians. It was recuperated by Exporail and is now used to move vehicles toward the shop or other railway tracks.

Demonstrations are planned according to a variable schedule from June 3 to October 29, 2019. Check the schedule board.
